Chinatown Real Estate Market

Homes in Chinatown are almost entirely of the condo variety. Prices on the Chinatown real estate market begin around $400,000 for a single-bedroom unit and can easily exceed more than a million dollars for one of the more luxurious suites on the market.

Vancouver's Chinatown is currently undergoing an architectural revival. Old, tired buildings and empty lots are being replaced by new, modern, stylish designs that better meet the needs of today's buyers. Chinatown offers its residents a premier location within the city, and developers are working hard to increase the quantity of available homes within the district. Thanks to a bylaw passed in  2011, developers are now able to building taller condos than before, enabling them to create more suites per building.

Because many of the condo buildings within Chinatown are the results of recent construction, buyers will find that these homes come equipped with contemporary appliances and a modern decor.

Having that said, because of the age of this community, it is also possible to invest in an older home in Chinatown. In fact, there are many buildings that have historic status throughout this Vancouver neighbourhood. If you are interested in living in a community where there is a unique dichotomy between stylish, new construction and historic, old-world charm, Chinatown is a good choice for you.

Chinatown Condos For Sale & Townhomes

Chinatown condos for sale often sell for close to a million dollars. They find themselves located in a fantastic part of the city, making them highly desirable. As such, if you find a Chinatown condo for sale that has piqued your interest, it is important to act quickly in order to avoid disappointment.

Chinatown condos often belong to high-rise buildings. Suites that belong to the upper floors tend to offer exceptional views of the Vancouver skyline twinkling at night. A few special units even boast views of the water.

Inside, Chinatown condos for sale can include finishes like hardwood flooring and granite countertops.  Floor-to-ceiling windows and open-concept designs ensure that these spaces feel much larger than they are. Private balconies provide a space of your own where you can enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning or contemplate the cool night air in the summer. Living room fireplaces act as an attractive heart of your home that you can gather around with friends on winter nights.

The square footages of condos in Chinatown vary widely. Many of the lots in this neighbourhood are quite narrow, and buyers will find that it is not uncommon to find small condo units in the area. The small size of the units paired with this neighbourhood’s location near the financial and business districts make it a popular choice for working professionals who do not have large families.
